(Which I find odd since how can a software crash after closing it?) But as long that I’m still able to use Photoshop, that’s all that matters right? Or am I better using an alternative software for my art?Īnd so far it’s only Photoshop that‘s having the crashing problem, I did a quick check on Illustrator and Flash and they don’t crash after quitting the applications. Since we think my PShop CS5.1 will still work, if I were to upgrade from Hi Sierra to Mohave. So far, Photoshop only crashes when I’m quitting the application. I was thinking of uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop CS5 since I still have the disk but I’m not sure if it'll fix it. Applecare took a look and said it is an Adobe issue. I can export from LR to CS5 and further edit with the CS tools, but CS crashes every time I go to print from the CS print dialog.

However, recently I’ve Just updated my Mac to macOS High Sierra and now I’m having the same problem again and I don’t know how to fix it since the folder name is still the same “CS5ServiceManager.bak”. but specifically, is anybody using Photoshop CS5 with High Sierra If so, is CS5 compatible I have this combination (along with LR6, which seems to be working fine). Download OSXCompatibilityPlug-in.zip to your computer. The problem does not occur if the Dock is set to Automatically hide and show. I don't like the current subscription-model of Adobe's CC, I don't want to be 'locked in'.
Before I take the plunge to revert back to macOS High Sierra I thought I’d try my luck here. Has someone upgraded to macOS High Sierra and still using Adobe Photoshop CS5 My vintage machine (iMac late 2010) can still upgrade to macOS High Sierra. But with the APFS-file-system I wonder if Photoshop CS5 will still be working. I've tried resetting NVRAM and running Disk Utility, but this didn’t resolve the issue. The one I’m most stressed about is Adobe Photoshop CS5. The Photoshop document window does not expand to fill the entire display when the macOS Dock is shown. Things are mostly ok but I have some apps that no longer work. I was able to fix it by changing the folder name “CS5ServiceManager” to “CS5ServiceManager.bak”. The information below applies only to macOS High Sierra 10.13.0.
I use Photoshop CS5 (mostly for drawing cartoons & comics) and when I was using macOS Sierra, it would crash after I quit the application, other than that it was working fine.
